SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – The Hub @ 375 is now open to help San Francisco Bay Area travelers find their way around the nine-county region and to access services provide by three regional agencies – the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the Bay Area Air Quality District and the Association of Bay Area Governments. Named for its location at 375 Beale Street in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill neighborhood, “The Hub,” as it is known locally, opened to an appreciative audience of Bay Area residents and visitors in late January. Operated by Hampton, Va.-based Faneuil, Inc., the walk-in regional resource center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Created through a partnership established by the three agencies, the center is staffed by consultants who work one-on-one with guests to provide individualized information and literature about navigating the region by bus, ferry, rail, bicycling and bike-share, walking, and other alternatives to driving alone. Visitors to the center can open or add funds to Clipper® transit-fare payment accounts, purchase FasTrak® toll tags for vehicles, pay for toll violations and apply for air quality permits. Also available are real-time transit schedules, point-to-point directions, Bay Trail information and maps, and a selection of transportation-themed items such as T-shirts, bike helmets, and other commuting gear. Co-located within The Hub is Ada’s Café – an eco-friendly, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization committed to providing employment opportunities to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities – where visitors can purchase food and beverages made from locally-sourced ingredients.
